The Committee for Ministerial and Eldership Training
One of the most important tasks for the elders in any church is guarding the flock. An important way of doing this is by providing the appropriate training, encouragement, and protections with regard to those men who are training for ministry, but also for the elders who are already a part of the church. Some denominations will call this a Credentials Committee, or something else similar.
In EPCEW the Committee for Ministerial and Eldership training is responsible for nurturing and training those men who are under care of the presbytery, or preparing for ministry. It examines these men as they approach licensure to preach and ordination. The committee provides continuing education for ministers and elders in the church. And it meet with, examines, and evaluates congregations that seek to join the church, ensuring that they are a good fit.
Here, Andy and Darren Moore, who both serve on the committee, speak a little about their work.
