You have heard it said that victory can be snatched out of the jaws of defeat. Well, that is precisely what our Zoomutopia conferences are all about. Born out of the Covid-19 pandemic when everything (including life as we know it) was cancelled, Zoomutopia blazed a trail of glory against an otherwise dejected sense of defeat. In the face of the worst 2020 in history, and being pathologically against ‘cancel-culture’ (see what we did there?!), we decided to buck the trend and try our hands at hosting an online conference. It went so well that we are now organising them every 3-4 months. Live-streamed to an online platform near you (YouTube & Facebook), they are for Christians of all ages everywhere. We simply want to encourage you from God’s Word. And so there aren’t any frills - it is simply preaching and teaching! The conference will be ‘live-streamed’ on Tuesday, 21st September from 7-8:30pm (GMT). If you register below you will receive an email on the day reminding you of the conference and giving you the links to watch. The links will also be available on the on this webpage a few days prior to the conference.
Everyone! Young and old, men and women, boys and girls, ministers and missionaries … even those who think ‘Reformed’ is when an ex-convict turns his life around and becomes a law-abiding citizen, and the word ‘Presbyterian’ identifies one of the more remote London underground tube stations! We simply want Christians to be encouraged and have an opportunity to enjoy great preaching and top draw teaching … so sign up and get involved!
We all know that there is nothing utopic about Zoom or online meetings. That being said, in these Covid-Crazy days, when normal in person meetings are limited at best and impossible at worst, we think meeting online is a good second best. With that in mind Zoomutopia 6 will be as ‘live’ as it possibly can be. Nothing is pre-recorded - everything will be happening at the same time you are watching it. All you have to do is set up your computer/laptop/iPad in a comfortable place in your home, ensure you have your favourite brew on hand, and watch! You will be able to join live via YouTube or Facebook (the links will be posted here closer to the date).
The conference is free! We want as many Christians to be blessed by this as possible and so we are not charging anything for attendance. Michael is a president, professor, teacher, minister, director, author, speaker, husband, father, and all round top bloke. Perhaps the only post he hasn’t (yet) filled is Prime Minister of the UK (rumour has it that he was offered the job but he didn’t like the internal decor of 10 Downing Street, so declined). He has worked with students, churches, and the most challenging subset of homo sapiens - men training for the ministry. We are very excited to have him speak on the topic of his latest book “Rejoice and Tremble: The Surprising Good News of the Fear of the Lord”. Inclinations to give this a miss are tantamount to both insanity and treason.
